Google Bug Drops Indexed Pages

There are a lot of angry webmasters on the forums who have had most of their indexed pages for some sites removed from the Google index. This has happened to one of my sites, effectively killing it. It went from 600+ indexed pages down to 1 (the main index). That means I’m not getting any search engine traffic from google to those missing pages. I have not checked all my sites but I think that so far this is the only one effected by this issue.

The current speculation is that this is a bug in the latest Google update. With potentially thousands of webmasters effected, you can be sure people are complaining and that google is well aware of the issue. Since traffic is down to sites that many webmasters make money with via AdSense, it is highly likely that Google is losing some money due to this problem. That could very well be the reason Google hasn’t said anything publicly. Their extremely over-inflated stock price could easily nose dive at the slightest hint of uncertainty. I don’t care about their stock since I don’t own any. I just want my traffic and indexed pages back!

Making Money on eBay

There’s an enormous group of people out there making a living selling on ebay. Making Money on eBay is nothing new, obviously people have been doing so since ebay has existed. It is estimated that one third (yes, 1/3) of the people that use the Internet also use ebay. That is a HUGE market. There are some ebay affiliates that are now doing over a million dollars in item sales per month as affiliates. That is counting the ebay fees paid by the sellers, not a million dollars worth of products. There are also thousands of people doing very well selling items there.

I’m always on the lookout for the next big idea that could help me retire a few years earlier, or pay for that fancier car I’m always going to want. Well while looking around for ideas I found that a lot of people have their entire businesses solely existing on ebay. There is some sense in it. Why build a web site, then struggle to get visitors to it when you can just go to where the buyers are. With millions of items listed on ebay at any give time, there is obviously a lot of space there for everyone who wishes to have their own little niche. I don’t want to sell physical products, but if I had a reliable drop shipper it might not be too bad.

Selling a digital product there would be great (assuming they sell well, which I have not verified). Has anyone had any success selling ebooks and similar products via eBay?

There are a TON of products out there claiming to help you make your fortune with online auctions, such as The Ebay Cash Machine and the “Silent Sales Machine”.  Unfortunately if I went out and bought every single Make Money Online product out there I wouldn’t have any loot left for computer upgrades and other expensive electronics. :)
